- P Scott Baker purchased from AAA
- P Daniel Robertson optioned to AAA
- P Pedro Figureroa moved from 15 to 60 day DL [ Link ]
NOTES: At the rate we’re (not) pitching lately, we needed a fresh arm. That is what I suspect this move is about.

NOTES: Matt Harrison makes his first start in a year or so, since he pitched the first two games of the 2013 season then went on the DL. He had more surgeries than starts last season. :( Hopefully he is good right from the start, as it would further help our cause, which surprisingly hasn’t left us sunk in April.

NOTES: The decimation of our roster continues. Another pitcher goes down, and with what I was reading about him, it sounds like it COULD be that injury that requires Tommy John surgery, in which case Figueroa is done for QUITE a long time. I read somewhere that we had no other position players on the 40 man roster that could be brought up, so they traded for Dan Robertson of the Padres. I know nothing about him, except he is going to be making his major league debut whenever he plays. Exciting for that kid, that’s for sure!
Hope for the best for Figueroa. John Blake of the Rangers tweeted this out today, and it seems telling of our current situation:
Rangers now have 11 players currently on the disabled list.

NOTES: Well, the Nick Martinez experiment continues. After his first game, people expected he’d be back, so I’ll be curious to see how he does.
It does bring to an end (mercifully) the Hector Noesi era of the Texas Rangers franchise. He came “this close” to pitching the single worst inning pitched by any Rangers pitcher in franchise history. I mean, if you’re gonna be bad, be REALLY bad. :)
P.S. Mark Clark?

NOTES: I’ve liked Adduci. He’s never gonna set the world on fire and be on SportsCenter every night, but he’s a good solid backup, and you need guys like that. So I’ve liked him while he’s here. Sardinas will be making his major league debut when he plays, and he’s wearing Arod’s old number (#3). :)

NOTES: Scheppers started the season with a lot of promise, he was doing well in spring training. Opening day I think most people were content to let slide as jitters. But it didn’t get better after that. His numbers seemed really counter to what he was doing in spring training, so perhaps it was a late spring injury. Aaron Poreda comes up, and I don’t know much about him, but his numbers before getting here look decent, so we’ll see how he goes. Oddly enough Poreda last pitched in the majors in 2009 for the Padres! Parrino I know NOTHING about, he was a waiver claim from Oakland on Mar 3, and now he’s gone.

NOTES: Most fans felt Colby Lewis should have arrived earlier than April 14th – like on March 31st, but at least he’s here now. Hopefully he can pull off another comeback like he did a few years ago, we could use it this season. It cost Daniel McCutchen his roster spot. I wasn’t attached to McCutchen, but he did well enough I thought. Still, someone has to go, can’t keep 20 pitchers at once.

NOTES: Well, it seems Beltre to the DL is a regular occurance at this point. Don’t like it to be, as he still plays well hurt, but you don’t want to blow the guy out either. His roster replacement, Hector Noesi, is a Mariners castoff. Can’t imagine he’ll stay long here. We’re really blowing through the roster moves this year! :)

NOTES: Well, Adrian Beltre came out of the game last night and looked hurt. He’s not technically on the disabled list, but they did bring up Kevin Kouzmanoff. Without Beltre going on DL, they needed to make a spot on the 25 and the 40, so Seth Rosin was DFA’ed. He was a RUle 5 guy, so I suspect we won’t be allowed to keep him. That’s a shame, as I really did like Rosin.
Bit worried about Beltre though – ick.

NOTES: Can Saunders stay there? My opinion of Joe Saunders:
