  • P Ryan Dittfurth put on the 60 day DL
  • OF Chris Magruder & P Juan Moreno
    designated for assignment.
  • P Jay Powell placed on 15 day DL
  • The following players optioned to AAA

  • P Rich Rodriguez added to the 40 man roster
  • P Jovanny Cedeno placed on the 60 day DL

  • P Danny Kolb placed on the 60 day DL
  • Purchased contract of P Hideki Irabu and
    placed him on 40 man roster.
  • The following players were assigned to the
    minor league camp, but I’m not entirely sure when it happened: IF Kelly
    Dransfeldt, Jason Maxwell, Santiago Perez, Kevin Mench, Jason Romano, Julio
    Mosquera, & Ed Sprague.  Maxwell did not accept the assignment and is a
    free agent.
  • The following players were released outright:
    Bill Pulpisher, Junior Vallegas, Danny Solano, Lale Esquivel, Eddie Martinez,
    Juan Piniella, Jeremy Jones, Justin Backsmeyer, Josh Rahrer, Ole Vigeland,
    Todd Ozias (all but Pulpisher are minor leaguers already).

  • P Jeff Zimmeman placed on the 15 day DL –
    retroactive to Mar 22nd.
  • Purchased contract of 3B Hank Blalock and
    placed him on 40 man roster.
  • The following players were notified they will
    start season in AAA: IF Santiago Perez, OF Kevin Mench, OF Jason Romano.
  • C Pat Borders was assigned to the minor league
    camp.
