Opening day will be April 7. Rangers home opener LIKELY (but not confirmed) to be Apr 11.

Likely outcome for Rangers home opener: Those who had tickets for Mar 31 will be used on Apr 11 home opener. Those who had tickets for Apr 11 prior to that will get bumped/credited/etc. Formal decision there coming, but this is likely.

Spring training camps open with a March 11 voluntary report date and March 13 mandatory date.

Season will be 162 games. Season will be extended 3 days with doubleheaders to make up for April 7 Opening Day.

There were eight votes on the union exec council, and all eight of them voted no. That means the player/team vote was 26-4. The four teams that voted no on MLB proposal: Mets, Yankees, Astros, Cardinals.

Playoffs now 12 teams, with the top two division winners earning a first-round bye.

There will be a ban on the shift starting in 2023, but as to what form it will take and what the nitty gritty is, that’s unknown.

Clubs that signed players who rejected the QO under the previous CBA will still forfeit draft picks for those players. For the Rangers, they will surrender two picks since they signed Corey Seager and Marcus Semien. In addition, free agents who rejected the QO and have yet to sign will still require the forfeiture of a draft pick.

Rob Manfred says the 2023 schedule will be more balanced. Teams will play at least one series against every opponent in both leagues.

In exchange for agreeing to an International Draft by July 25, 2022, MLB will eliminate the qualifying offer system (direct Draft-pick compensation) for free agents. QO remains for now.
