From an AP Wire story:
The Texas Rangers signed Edgardo Alfonzo on Friday to a minor-league contract that would pay him $650,000, plus incentives, if he makes the major league roster.
Alfonzo last appeared in the majors in 2006 for a total of 30 games with the Los Angeles Angels and Toronto Blue Jays.
