Quick notes. I plan a “catch up” post in the next day or so with my thoughts on various things that have happened.
The Rangers got Ben Broussard via trade from the Seattle Mariners tonight for Tug Hulett. To make room of the 40 man roster, Nick Goneault was DFA’ed.

On top of that, the Rangers did not offer a contract to Akinori Otsuka, making him a free agent, and making the Chris Young trade even MORE annoying now.
UPDATE on Otsuka: Friend of mine pointed out how well this song fits the Otsuka / Young trade fiasco..

1st base is officially other teams left over trash. I’m all for building for the future but, are you to tell me that we have nothing better in the minors than the combo of Broussard/Red Headed Babe Ruth for 20 games. If we are going to mail it in this year why not mail it in with somebody who has long term potential. Our owner/front office is a joke. Did you anyone hear what Tori Hunters’ kid said about him playing for the rangers? enough said!
Do you think other owners and front office make fun of teams for being so ignorant? I think Mike Lamb would have been a better option the Broussard not that Lamb is anything to brag about…. Just Trade Michael Young to the twins with someone else for Johan Santana and lets start all over with him, We are headed south anyways, only team in the history of game that every year has been a rebuilding year. PLEASE TOM sell the team!
No, I do not think teams “make fun” of other teams. Michael Young will not be traded. What would be the point in bringing in Santana if we were “going south”? That makes no sense at all.
Tom will (unfortunately) not sell the team, so I’m getting tired of seeing that.
